ONE OF OUR OWN ELECTED
NATIONAL PRESIDENT

DALLAS PARALEGAL CHOSEN TO LEAD NFPA INTO 21ST CENTURY

Sally Andress, RP, a family law paralegal with the Dallas, firm of Koons, Fuller Vanden Eykel & Robertson, was elected President of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. (NFPA), at its Spring 1999 Convention, hosted by the New Orleans Paralegal Association in April.

Sally served as 1995-1996 President of the Legal Assistants Division of the State Bar of Texas. Her local association is the Dallas Area Paralegal Association, which in 1996 named her its Paralegal of the Year. Sally received her designation as a Board Certified Legal Assistant in Family Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and as a Registered Paralegal from the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. Since 1997, Sally has served as NFPA's Director of Membership.

Founded in 1974, NFPA is a non-profit professional organization comprised of 55 state and local paralegal associations throughout the United States and Canada. Those member associations represent over 17,000 individual members who reflect a broad diversity of experience, education and job responsibilities. NFPA has been a national voice for the paralegal profession since 1974.

Sally's primary goals will be education of attorneys and law school students as well as consumers about proper utilization of paralegal services. In addition she seeks to strengthen the relationship of NFPA and its member associations with other law related associations on both the local and national levels. Putting these goals to work on a nationwide basis can only mean good things for the paralegal profession.

The Legal Assistants Division (LAD) is proud to congratulate Sally on her latest accomplishment. We know she will be equally dedicated to her new office as President of NFPA as she was to LAD.
