The following data is from the 2001 Legal Assistants Division Employment Survey, which was sent to the 2,010 members of the State Bar of Texas Legal Assistants Division on May 10, 2001. A follow-up mailing was sent on June 26 to the 1,226 Division members who had not yet responded. As of July 23, 2001, a total of 884 surveys were returned. This represents a 44 percent response rate.1
