Editor’s Note
by Debra Crosby

It’s Spring and all our thoughts are turning to things like baseball, planting gardens and how the heck we’re ever going to fit into our bathing suits. I have personally given them up, but that’s a different story. Even though our country is embroiled in a war in a faraway place, we can still look to Spring as a time of hope and renewal. Every day, I try to find at least one small thing that gives me joy or at least is worth getting out of bed for. That way, even if the day is rotten for the most part, at least I can say it wasn’t a total waste. We can do the same with our lives. Find at least one thing that feeds your soul, makes you smile, makes you feel good about yourself, and nurture that activity. Make it a part of your life even if you only get to do it once a week or once a month. At the end of our all-too-brief existences, if we can say that we at least felt good about how we spent our precious time, then our lives will have been worth something.

Now I must turn to the one thing that gives me joy as well as splitting headaches. This magazine. I have gathered a variety of articles for this issue and I hope that each of you finds at least one that educates or informs you. Then my efforts will not have been in vain. This is always my primary concern – the interests of our readers.

I must therefore ask all of you a favor in that regard. Please let me hear from you regarding articles or topics you’d like to see in the TPJ. I am always looking around, gathering articles, but I am only guessing at what interests you. But if I err in that regard, then is only partly my fault. If this magazine is not what you want or need for it to be, then it is your responsibility to let me know. I toil, sweat blood, lose sleep, pull my hair out, all for you, our readers. Please don’t let me feel alone out there. Let me hear from you. (Just kidding about the sweating blood part – I just sweat and cry a little.)

Also, make sure you visit our newly renovated web site at www.txpd.org.  It’s got some great new features and although parts of it are still being worked on, it’s ready for visitors.  Let us know how you like it and if you have any suggestions.  If you haven’t filled out the survey by the Joint Task Force, please do so as well. We need your input.

Have a good Spring. Enjoy the nice weather and your life as well!
