no. 2 Return
to Contents editor’s Noteby Debra CrosbyAs you will be able to see by scanning the information in this issue, there is a lot going on in our profession right now. From the overtime issue to the basics of what we will be called, the “hot” topics are heating up even further. The Joint Task Force has prepared a proposal that it hopes to discuss with the Bar Board in January, further defining the paralegal profession in Texas. The LAD board has passed a resolution indicating that the term “paralegal” is the preferred one in Texas. Developments in technology occur almost hourly, changing the way we do business and allowing us to more effectively assist our clients. The LAD board is on top of every issue, but always wants to hear from you, our members. As always, I encourage you to make your voice heard. Individuals in large numbers are paid attention to, so never doubt that your opinion is worthy of being heard. Keep yourself informed and you will not be caught unaware when developments occur. The primary purpose of this magazine is to keep you informed. It is our fervent desire that we do an effective job in that regard. If there is anything you want to know more about, let us know. We are here to serve you. Another year is coming to a close. While we can mourn the loss of the old year, the new year holds promise and hope. It will be what we make of it. May your lives and your years be all that you can wish for.
