Dear TAPS Attendee:

The TAPS Planning Committee has worked very hard to make sure you have a great event!  We have a wonderful line-up of speakers planned, fantastic socials, and don’t forget about time to see all your colleagues from around the state. See our schedule of events HERE.

Please read this e-blast thoroughly because it contains all the information you will need to prepare for your attendance at TAPS.

IMPORTANT Items below:

TAPS Conference App:  By Friday, you will receive an email invitation to the email address you provided upon registration from Crowd Compass with the registration instructions.  Connect with other attendees, view a list of speakers, the TAPS schedule, survey the sessions and event.  We will have staff on-site during registration to assist with downloading the APP if you are having problems.  Check out the APP for all the conference details.

Presentation Papers and Documents – Please download the presentations HERE.  You can print for your use or download to your computer NOW.  Check back before the event for revised or additional materials.  You can also place the presentations in a Dropbox folder to view on your tablet or handheld device.

Vendor Hall – The vendor hall hours on Thursday this year are from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Wednesday Night Social:  “Make a Bet on Your Vendors”  The Wednesday night’s networking social with the vendors will begin at 5:15 in the La Joya ballroom.  Be sure you have your Wednesday social armband for entry.  Mingle with your vendors while you enjoy light snacks and a cash bar.  Your vendors will be vital for door prizes for the evening so be sure to get to know them.  TAPS is just beginning:  we still have plenty of time for more CLE and fun!

Thursday Night Social:  “Be a High Roller at the TAPS Casino…Celebrating 40 Years” The Thursday social will begin at 6:30 pm in the Grand Ballroom (dinner at 7:30 pm), when we will also be kicking off our 40th Anniversary celebration.  Be sure you wear your Thursday night armband.  In true TAPS ‘fashion’ wear your best 20’s or jazzy casino themed outfits for our Thursday night “Be a High Roller” social.  As always, there will be a contest for some of you that will be the best dressed, or even the most uniquely dressed.  Be a part of the fun and roll the dice for the win!  There will be a photo booth for fun photos. View the TAPS Sponsors who make this evening possible.

Friday Morning Special Session:  “40 Years and Counting – Leading into the Future”  Take advantage of this unique “open mic” time with Charter Members, Past-Presidents and other leaders of the Paralegal who have served for the past 40 years.

Friday TAPS and Paralegal Division 40th  Annual Meeting:  ” Against All Odds”  Join us for the TAPS Final event and the Paralegal Division’s 40th Annual Meeting.  We are honored to have Justice Beth Watkins as our Keynote Speaker who will speak on “When Life Closes a Door.”

We cannot wait to see you in San Antonio!

Special Announcement:  Taking current circumstances into account, the TAPS Planning Committee has decided on several safety measures for this event.  We will be asking our attendees, vendors, event staff and hotel staff to help us so that we can ensure this event is as safe as possible.

  • First and foremost, we will ask all our attendees, vendors and staff to agree not to attend any event should they begin to feel ill during their time at TAPS or learn that they have recently been exposed to COVID-19.
  • We will have reduced/spaced seating in all classrooms, at all socials, and at the TAPS/Annual Meeting luncheon.
  • We will ask all in attendance at TAPS to consider wearing a mask and to practice social distancing.
  • We will have masks and hand sanitizer available throughout the event and encourage attendees and vendors to wash their hands with soap and water regularly.

Along with the hotel we will be working on enhanced cleaning of all spaces, including classrooms, registration, and speaker check-in.
