How do I change my PD E-Group email address?

The PD E-Group created by the member is password-protected.  Only the member has access to change a member's PD E-Group email address.  Go to www.txpd.org, click on Members-Only tab and sign in (access by User ID and Password).  Choose PD E-Group, enter your E-Group password (this is a password created by the member for PD E-Group only), unsubscribe the current email address, and create a new email address where you want to receive your PD E-Group messages.  Once completed, you will be required to respond to an email confirmation before you have access to the PD E-Group.

If you have new contact information, such as office address, phone number, email, etc. remember to update your contact information with the Paralegal Division.  Find out how by visiting our FAQ's page, under Membership topic.

Is there a way to receive the emails individually instead of in group/combined format (digest format)? The digest format is hard to read and the emails include extra background computer entries that make it hard to follow email discussions.

The reason you receive messages in this format is because you chose to receive the PD E-Group in digest mode (all messages one time a day).  Unfortunately the digest mode causes the eGroup traffic to default to the text format for all emails, even those originally posted in HTML format.  This is a limitation of the underlying list server software.

We strongly recommend the following approach:

  1. Follow the instructions below to turn Digest mode off.  You will start getting the traffic as individual emails instead of in a batch.
  2. Set up a “rule” in your email application (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) to automatically move all incoming eGroup messages to a separate folder that can be reviewed at your convenience.

Instructions for turning off the digest format

  • Go to:  https://txpd.org/logon.asp?PALO=forum_manager.asp and log on.
  • After logging on you should be redirected to the eGroup Subscription Manager page.  (See the PD site menu:  MEMBERS ONLY > eGroup > Edit My eGroup Profile)
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the section that looks like the example below.  Click the "here" link on that under Your Egroup Subscription Options. Under Set Digest Mode, choose off.  You must then enter your E-Group Password at the bottom and "Submit My Changes."

Click here to go to the eGroup server to administer the following options:

  • Disable mail delivery
  • Set Digest Mode
  • Get MIME or Plain Text Digests?
  • Receive posts you send to the list?
  • Receive acknowledgement mail when you send mail to the list?
  • Conceal yourself from subscriber list?
  • Clicking the "here" link on the eGroup Subscription Manager page will redirect you to a new page on the eGroup list server system that is provided by our 3rd-party vendor.  This page shows Your Egroup Subscription Options.
    • Under Set Digest Mode, choose Off.
    • Enter your E-Group Password at the bottom and click "Submit My Changes."  Remember, your eGroup password is NOT the same as your PD members only password.  If you've forgotten your eGroup password, click the browser's Back button to retrun to the eGroup Subscription Manager page and use the Forgotten Your Password section to recover your password.

I subscribed to the PD E-Group using my home email address. Can I use my office email address to send a message to the PD E-Group?

No, you may only use one email address for the PD E-Group; the one that you subscribed. The PD E-Group does not recognize names of individuals; it only recognizes email addresses. Please keep the email address and password in a safe place so you know what email address is subscribed to the PD E-Group. Since this is a group that PD Members choose to belong, the email addresses are NOT connected to the membership roster in any form
