“Review of New 2021 Discovery Rules for Texas”
Course description: New Discovery Rules for 2021 are a great concern for all the paralegals and attorneys this year. While the rules normally undergo only minor changes in any given year, the Texas Legislature and Texas Supreme Court occasionally make major overhauls to the TRCP, resulting in significant changes to the progression of a case, such that clients should be aware of the changes. Three such changes were made this year, all of which took effect on January 1, 2021, and will greater align the TRCP with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Justice Marialyn Barnard (retired) of Texas 4th Court of Appeals leads the forms drafting and updating team at TXdocs. She also is the attorney who reviewed the Rule changes and incorporated them into the forms.
Justice Marialyn Barnard retired from the Fourth Court of Appeals in 2018 and launched a career as Vice President, Product Development at TXdocs; a comprehensive yet easy-to-use document assembly solution for Texas legal professionals. TXdocs provide comprehensive and full featured document assembly and practice management software that is specifically tailored to the way we do business in Texas
