New Member Application


Application for membership in the Paralegal Division can only be done online.  No paper applications are accepted.  We accept new member applications for persons who are not currently a member of the Paralegal Division and for current members who want to apply for a different type of membership.

This process only supports new member applications, not renewals.  Renewals are handled via the My Account > Renew Online process, which is only available during the annual renewal cycle of May 1—July 31.

Payment options are by check, money order or credit card (no PO orders accepted).  Credit cards accepted are:  Visa, Master Card, or American Express.  After completing the online membership form, please print your application before you enter payment information.  If paying by check, within 10 business day you must mail your dues payment along with a copy of the confirmation email you will receive to:  Paralegal Division, P. O. Box 19163, Amarillo, TX 79114.

The Paralegal Division membership year is June 1 – May 31 (annual basis).  Fees are shown below:

Application payments are non-refundable. 

Members joining between June 1 and November 30 of each calendar year will be members through the end of the membership year which is May 31.  Active and Associate members will be required to obtain the mandatory CLE hours for renewal, 6 hours of CLE, 1 of which must be legal ethics.  Two of the six hours can be satisfied with self-study or pro-bono, neither of which can replace the legal ethics requirement.

Members joining between December 1 and February 25 (Pro-Rated Time Period) join the Division for half price and will be members through the end of the membership year, which is May 31.  Active and Associate members will be required to obtain the mandatory CLE hours for renewal, 6 hours of CLE, 1 of which must be legal ethics.  Two of the six hours can be satisfied with self-study or pro-bono, neither of which can replace the legal ethics requirement.  So, depending on when you join you will have between 3 and 6 months to complete your CLE requirements for renewal.

Members joining between February 26, 2024 and May 31, 2024 will be members through May 31, 2025 and you will not be required to renew until 2025.  Active and Associate members will be required to obtain the mandatory CLE hours for renewal, 6 hours of CLE, 1 of which must be legal ethics.  Two of the six hours can be satisfied with self-study or pro-bono, neither of which can replace the legal ethics requirement, but the member will have until May 31, 2025 to fulfill the CLE requirements for the 2025 membership renewal time period.
