I intend to freelance my services (as a paralegal) to attorneys for both research and preparation of legal documents. Is there an existing law that would prohibit such a business?

Working as a freelance paralegal (offering services to and under the direct supervision of a duly licensed attorney) is not contrary to the Unauthorized Practice of Law.
